Oil Changes and
Other Fluid Services

To All Vehicle Owners We May Serve,

At Speedy Pit Stop, we specialize in high-skill automotive services that are best suited for mobile delivery. While we do not offer mobile oil changes as a standalone service, there are limited cases where we may provide them under controlled conditions. This policy outlines when and why oil changes are not offered broadly, and under what circumstances exceptions may apply.

Coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and differential fluid services present similar concerns when performed in a mobile setting. These fluids are often more difficult to contain and clean up than engine oil, especially during flushes, bleeds, or drain-and-fill procedures. In addition to the risk of staining or damaging surfaces, these services typically require longer setup times, specialized equipment, and a stable working environment. For these reasons, we do not offer fluid changes or flushes of this type unless they are part of a scheduled diagnostic or repair visit at a suitable location.

1. Uncontrolled Discharge Risk

Draining engine oil and other fluids is not always a predictable process. On many vehicles, the oil exits at an angle or velocity that varies depending on engine design, oil temperature, and other conditions. Even with professional equipment and care, there is a possibility of overspray or overflow during the drain process. Once released, oil may exit in ways that exceed the boundaries of any prepared containment area.

2. Surface Sensitivity and Staining Risk

In many neighborhoods we serve, driveways and home garage floors are constructed from decorative or porous materials such as pavers, brushed concrete, or textured coatings. These surfaces are especially difficult to protect completely during a mobile oil and fluid change. A small amount of liquid can cause permanent staining or absorption that cannot be fully cleaned or reversed. For this reason, we choose not to take the risk of working with engine oil and other fluids in residential environments, as we will not expose our customers to the possibility of surface damage or lasting stains.

While it's unlikely, with extra precautions and some luck, let's say we could perform a hundred oil changes without incident. It would only take one unexpected spill to require a complete resurfacing of a driveway, parking area, or garage floor. At that point, the cost could easily outweigh all prior revenue from those services. It is simply not a reasonable risk for us or for you.

3. Limited Availability as an Add-On Service

Oil changes are offered only as an add-on to other booked services such as diagnostics, inspections, or in-depth system work. We do not accept oil change-only appointments. This helps ensure the visit is both operationally worthwhile and technically appropriate for mobile delivery.

4. Fleet and Established Customer Exceptions

In general, we limit oil change services to fleet clients who provide a suitable working area and have a regular service history with us. In some cases, repeat customers with known vehicles and controlled environments may also be eligible. These exceptions allow us to manage risk and provide reliable service while maintaining our professional standards.

5. Environmental and Regulatory Concerns

Oil and other fluid changes performed outside of a controlled facility raise concerns related to environmental runoff, particularly near storm drains or on permeable ground. Some municipalities and homeowners associations prohibit fluid handling on-site for these reasons. We take compliance seriously and avoid mobile services that involve the uncontrolled handling or disposal of engine fluids.

6. Our Focus

Speedy Pit Stop is not a general maintenance provider. Our focus is on diagnostics, module programming, electrical systems, and higher-level repair work that requires experience and precision. Routine oil and fluid changes do not fall within our core service model and are provided only under the limited conditions outlined above.

7. For Your Oil and other fluid Change Needs

We recommend having regular oil and fluid changes performed at a fixed-location provider or dealership, preferably one with qualified technicians who can identify signs of deeper issues and ensure the service is done correctly. Without proper experience, even a basic fluid change can lead to costly problems. If issues are discovered during that visit, we are glad to schedule a diagnostic or repair appointment immediately afterward.

We appreciate your understanding and remain committed to delivering safe, professional services that are appropriate for mobile operation.
